SELEUKID KINGS OF SYRIA. Antiochos Hierax, circa 242-227 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28 mm, 17.00 g, 1 h), Aigai in Aeolis. Diademed head of Antiochos II to right. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ - ANTIOXOY Apollo seated left on omphalos, holding arrow in his right hand and resting his left on grounded bow; to left, monogram of ΘE above goat head to left and monogram of AP. CSE 632 (this coin). Houghton, Aegae, 21 (this coin, A7/P2). SC pl. 43, 889.1 (same dies). WSM 1515. Extremely rare. The reverse struck slightly off center and hence with minor weakness, otherwise, very fine.
